Holiday Wishes of Joy & Peace to You from GlueArts!

 Joy & Peace Christmas Jar
GlueArts Designer: Lesley Langdon

Intro: When in doubt, go for your Glue Arts Hot Glue Gun. It works on almost anything! I used it in this project for ALL my gluing. It works great for glass and ribbon, even the acrylic tag to ribbon! This project came together super fast, and you can feel good about recycling! We just had pasta the other night and my husband asked if I would like to save the jar, and I immediately thought about decorating my mantel in my new house. I've never had a mantel before, so for me, this is exciting.

Supplies:
Glue Arts Hot Glue Gun Sticks
Webster's Pages Ribbon (Blue Flowers)
Maya Road Ribbon (Blue Grosgrain)
Maya Road Decorative Pins
Trim (FabricLand)
Tim Holtz Fragments Acrylic Tag
Staz-on (Cotton White, Jet Black)

MASON Jar

Instructions:

1. Paint MASON jar with white primer and while wet, spritz with Shimmerz Vibez (Jeni B Bleu). Let dry.

2. Sand down the paint until you reach desired effect.

3. Create sentiment tag by stamping onto acrylic tag with Staz-on Ink, on other side, apply white Staz-on ink, covering the entire surface. String cord through and tie bow. Set aside.

4. Using your Glue Arts Hot Glue Gun, adhere an assortment of ribbons and trim.
5. Adhere decorative pins and hot glue your pre-made tag onto the ribbon.

Holiday Mini Books & Ornaments!!

How many of you make a December Daily Album?

Now how many of you have been taking daily photos...but perhaps like some of us..have not yet created your album?

Did you answer yes? (good...!!lol)

If not...or if you're just looking for a fun, mini album to make to perhaps give as a gift...as this does not have to be holiday themed...we've got just the one for you!

Designer Jaime Warren created this cutie today using our Glue Glider PRO and of course...our U Cut It Foam! (you definitely want Santa to leave some in your stocking this year!!) And wait till you see the Recycled ornaments Glue Girl Karen Ewing has for you today...best of all...kid friendly and economical too!!

Holiday Mini Book
GlueArts Designer: Jaime Warren

Supplies:

Glue Glider PRO

U Cut It 3D Foam Adhesive Blanks 8.5x11
3 Paper Lunch Bags
2 Jump Rings
Hole Punch
Patterned Paper & Embellishments

To start I folded the 3 paper bags in half and used the hole punch to punch two holes for my jump rings. I used my Glue Glider Pro to adhere my bottom patterned paper layer to the front of my bag. The Glue Glider Pro gives it a good firm hold. I then layered my top sheet over the bottom sheet.

I used U Cut It 3D Foam Adhesive Blanks to attach some of my embellishments, this gave them great dimension! I love to layer up embellishments and use the Blanks to pop the top embellishment over the bottom one!

I continued the layering process throughout the entire album - layering both the patterned paper and the embellishments. I made sure to leave space to tuck in my photos (I usually use 2x3 size for these albums.) You can also tuck journaling tags into the pockets that are open on the sides.

The finished product:

Now hold onto your seats because we know you love when we bring you unique ways to recycle and reuse!! Today our Glue Girl Karen Ewing has brought us the perfectly timed craft for how you can recycle, reuse and recreate with all your PRO parts! Read on to see what you can create...

Recycled PRO Gear Ornaments
GlueArts Glue Girl: Karen Ewing

Supplies:

Gear parts from inside your Glue Glider PRO Cartridges
Martha Stewart Crafts Multi-Surface paints by Plaid (Tartan Red, Wet Cement, Pesto, Pond)
Plaid Extreme Glitter (Red, Silver, Emerald, Turquoise)
Blumenthal Lansing buttons
Ribbons

Instructions:

1. Take apart empty cartridge. Recycle case. Save tiny gearing for another project.  Use small and big rings.

2.  Paint gearing (front and back) with foam brush.  I used Martha Stewart Crafts Multi-Surface paints by Plaid (Tartan Red, Wet Cement, Pesto, Pond).  Let dry 30 minutes.

3.  Paint gearing with Plaid Extreme Glitter (I used Red, Silver, Emerald, Turquoise).  Best technique is pouncing a foam brush to create texture.  Let dry overnight.

4.  Decorate center of gearing with buttons  or dimensional stickers using GlueArts Adhesive Squares.  Remove button shank and adhere with Adhesive Squares.

5. To hang on a Christmas Tree, use sheer ribbon, cording or pipe cleaners through a loop on the gearing.

This is a great project to do with children....let them help decorate the gears once an adult has spray painted them...of course though we know all kids love to play with glitter!!  Great idea also for those Mom's and Dad's looking for classroom crafts for upcoming school holiday parties. Just pre-spray the gears and let the kids have fun decorating them!

How fun is that???!! We know you'll be pulling those gears out now before sending the rest to the recycling bin! And we hope if you do create some of your own...you'll share those with us on our GlueArts Facebook wall!

Holiday Poinsettias & Rolled Christmas Trees!

How many of you enjoy having Holiday Poinsettia plants in and around your home for the holidays?

This year we noticed an abundance of beauties and different styles of flowers..pinks, whites, fluffy petals...

We adore them...however they are not always a smart choice for families with pets, puppies and small children. Designer Audrey Pettit has not only the perfect solution...it's absolutely gorgeous!

And we're tickled to offer to you our first Glue Girl Tutorial Video starring Karen Ewing and Julia Sandvoss making a Holiday Rolled Christmas Tree Canvas. So grab a hot chocolate or tea and sit back and enjoy the video!

 Holiday Poinsettia
GlueArts Designer: Audrey Pettit

Supplies:
Glue Arts Glue Gun and Glue Gun Sticks
Authentique Wonder 6x6 Bundle Collection
Kraft Outlet Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock
Foofala Buttons
American Crafts Ribbon
Clearsnap Ink
Florists Wire
Raw Chipboard

 1. Create templates for poinsettia leaves on raw chipboard. I free-hand drew my shapes, but you can also use die cuts, cookie cutters, or templates from the internet. You'll need 3 different sized leaves for this project, with lengths of 5", 4", and 3".

*Tip: If you are free-handing your leaves, think of them as generic holly leaf shapes with little scalloped peaks along the sides.

2. Trace your leaf templates onto the back sides of your selected patterned papers. You'll need about 8 small leaves, 3 medium leaves, and 5 large leaves per finished poinsettia. Cut out, crumple into a tight ball, and smooth flat again.

 3. Cut 16 5" lengths of florist wire, one for each leaf. Using the Glue Arts glue gun, adhere florist wire to the back center of each leaf.

4. Stitch each patterned paper leaf onto kraft cardstock. If you prefer, you can simply adhere the leaves to the cardstock without stitching. I recommend using Glue Arts High Tac Adhesive. Cut around each leaf, leaving about a 1/8" allowance.

Edge each leaf with brown ink.

5. Gather wired leaves into a bouquet and twist wires together to secure.

6. Wire 3 buttons together, leaving a long stem of wire that you poke through the center of your gathered poinsettia flower. Twist together.

Add a ribbon bow and enjoy!

Rolled Paper Christmas Tree Canvas
GlueArts Designer: Julia Sandvoss

Supplies:
Authentique “Wonder” Paper, Diecut & Sticker Collection
Colorbox Chalk Inks: Warm Red, Creamy Brown, Teal and Moss Green
Canvas 10 by 14 (Hobby Lobby)
Core-dinations Cardstock
Ranger Stickles
Maya Road Mists Spray & Pins
Epiphany Crafts Studio Shape Star Tool & Star Bubble Caps
Making Memories Assorted Holiday Embellishments

Tree Instructions:

1) Begin by choosing a variety of patterned papers and solid cardstock colors. You can mix and match brands however to try to stay within the same color families for the best look. Cut strips of paper approximately 1 1/2 inches wide by 12 inches long.  Use a pencil or dowel to help roll the papers.
Begin rolling the papers and secure with a strip of either GlueArts Perma Tac adhesive or use Extreme Adhesive Squares. Continue to roll about 16 to 18 papers in a variety of prints and solids.

2) Next  ink the rolled papers to give a finished look to the edges. Then lay out the rolled papers and decide which print and solids you like in which order. Once you have laid them out as you like…it’s time to start working on the canvas.

3) Place the rolled papers onto the canvas allowing a space at the bottom for a trunk. Once you’ve laid them out…it’s time to trim the papers making each one just a bit shorter as you work your way to the tip top of the tree. Keep in mind, you can use some of the rolled pieces you’ve cut off for the top pieces of the tree. Or…hold onto your scraps and make a small tree shaped ornament later!

4) Once the entire tree has been laid out and cut to size…it’s time to adhere to the canvas using the GlueArts Extreme Adhesives Squares. Apply a square or two to the backside of the papers and press down onto the canvas working your way to the top of the tree.

5) Next it’s time to decorate the tree with diecuts, felt embellishments, stickers and more! Use the GlueArts U Cut It Foam to add dimension and depth to the embellishments so they lift off the tree just a bit. Have fun with this step…this is where it really comes together.

 6) Add a hand cut trunk and decorative edge cut from one of the papers for the trunk of the tree. Add a few sprays of the Maya Road Mists to canvas for a light color. Finish off with Epiphany Crafts Stars with Bubble Caps tops for a shiny addition.
