Won't you be GlueArts Neighbor??

GlueArts and October Afternoon's Modern Homemaker!

It's a perfect mix of vintage and retro products with our outstanding lineup adhesives. Kind of like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. You need the bread to make it stick!lol {GlueArts is the bread...and October Afternoon is the  peanut butter and jelly. But I bet you knew that right??!!!lol  Maybe I should stop here and go make myself a sandwich!!lolol I digress....}

Whether we're your neighbor or you have a new neighbor, Designer Patti Milazzo has the cutest way to welcome them into the neighborhood!

Designer Linda Albrecht has made a soft, glittery gift box that is almost too pretty to open. {but I know you would!!}

“Welcome Neighbor” Gift Set
Designed by: Patti Milazzo

Designer Comment: October Afternoon’s Modern Homemaker collection was perfect for my plans to create a simple gift set for my new neighbor. With a variety of Glue Arts’ adhesives, I was able to paper piece a cute card and decorative plant pick from basic shapes and punches.

Supplies:
Glue Arts:
Glue Glider Pro with
1/4 Perma Tac Cartridge Refill - Pro
Mini Adhesive Squares
Adhesive Squares
U-Cut-It Adhesive Foam
Extreme Adhesive Squares
Extreme Micro Squares

October Afternoon:
Modern Homemaker pattern papers – Cherry Pie, Snickerdoodles, Party Line, Canning Jar and Clothespins
Modern Homemaker Buttons
Mini Market Pink & Black Alpha Stickers
Good Cheer pattern paper – Peppermint Sticks
Weathervane pattern paper – Sweater Weather and Chilly Mornings

Other: Fiskars Punches and Crimping Tool; houseplant with flowerpot; 1/8” wooden dowel; 8” of 1” wide coordinating ribbon; mini brads and embroidery thread

Instructions:
1. Cut a 6” square from light blue pattern paper or light blue cardstock for the background.
2. Punch or cut basic shapes to create a house, tree, flower and clouds.
• grass is a strip of green pattern paper cut slightly curvy
• house – 2.25” square; roof – 2.25” square cut in half; small square and rectangle for window and door; heart punch
• tree trunk – brown pattern paper strip; tree - 3 circles: 2”, 1.5” and 1”
• flower punch, leaf punches and strip of green pattern paper; cloud punches and butterfly punch.

3. Once all the pieces were punched/cut to create my scene, I used the Glue Glider Pro with Perma Tac Adhesive to adhere the grass, tree trunk, square house, flower stem and leaves.
4. Next, I put the tree circles and triangle roof through a crimping tool to add texture. I applied Adhesive Squares to the back of the crimped shapes and applied the roof as well as layered the tree circles.

Tip: I found the Adhesive Squares to be the easiest adhesive to apply to the pieces of crimped paper without flattening the texture.

5. For the small butterfly and button, I used Mini Adhesive Squares to attach them to the page. I folded the Mini Adhesive Square in half and only applied it to the center of the butterfly so that I could fold the wings up slightly.
6. Then I applied small pieces of the U-Cut-It Adhesive Foam to the back of the heart and clouds for dimension.
7. Add a mini brad as a doorknob and the front is ready to adhere to a 6” square white cardstock card. Again use the Glue Glider Pro with Perma Tac Adhesive to attach the cardfront.

8. To coordinate the simple black ceramic container I had for the houseplant, I used the Extreme Adhesive Squares (Regular and Micro) to attach the Modern Homemaker Buttons. I spaced them about 1/8” apart around the top rim.
9. To create the decorative plant pick, I cut 2 - 4” circles: blue paper for the background and another from coordinating paper. I cut a partial 4” circle from green pattern paper for the grass and cut a curvy edge as I had for the card. I also recreated the house, punched another cloud and butterfly as well.
10. I applied Extreme Adhesive Squares to the top of the dowel as well as to the backside of the house embellished circle. Then I sandwiched the dowel between the 2 circles.
11. I tied the ribbon around the bottom of the circles and secured it with a Micro Extreme Adhesive Square. I also used the Micro Square to layer and adhere the buttons to the ribbon.

12. Insert the completed decorative pick into the plant container to finish the project.

For You Gift Box
Designed by: Linda Albrecht

Supplies:
Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro with Perma Tac Adhesive
Glue Arts Hot Glue Gun & sticks
Glue Arts U-Cut-It Foam
October Afternoon "Modern Homemaker" Collection papers, Label sticker, Mini Market Stickers (pink), Buttons & Tin Pin
Brown Inkpad for distressing
Liquid adhesive & clear glitter
3/8" pink twill
3/8" pink & green crinkled seam binding

Instructions:
1. Measure and cut patterned papers to fit the box for both the cover and the bottom pieces. Use Perma Tac Adhesive to cover the box, making sure to apply heavily along edges.

2. Apply glitter to a chipboard frame then adhere a piece of patterned paper to the backside. Apply a Label sticker to the center, attach a small yellow brad to the flower center then apply the "for you" letters.
3. Distress all edges of the box and chipboard frame with brown ink.
4. Use the Glue Arts Hot glue gun to apply the largest buttons to the right side top of the box.
5. Continue to layer on smaller buttons to the top of the larger buttons then apply a thin layer of liquid glue and sprinkle with clear glitter. Allow to dry.
6. Cut a piece of the U-Cut-It Foam to fit the back side of the chipboard frame then apply.
7. Tie green seam binding around the top of the box top near the left side of the cluster of buttons. Remove the protective paper from the remaining side of the U-Cut-It foam and apply the chipboard frame to the box top along the left side bottom of the button cluster.
8. Begin to make a flower from the pink twill by forming a circle using hot glue and continue to wrap more twill into the inside of the circle.
9. Finish the flower by scrunching up pink seam binding and hot gluing it into the center of the flower.

10. Apply a Tin Pin to one of the buttons in the cluster.
11. Box up something fun for someone special!
