Love Remains....

Oh how we adore today's crafts! We're certain you will too!

Today's projects, while perfect for Mother's Day gift giving are also perfect for birthday's, teacher gifts, new bride and much more!

Designer Linda Albrecht has a gorgeous framed project...so fitting with spring {we have a birds nest with Robin's babies in our BBQ pit}. It's dimensional, unique and what a beautiful gift idea! Designer Kristen Swain has the cutest...yes cutest.....tin pincushion we adore! Bright, colorful, cheerful and almost to cute to use!

Love Remains Framed Project

Chipboard sheet
Muslin fabric
Ivory tuelle
Old key
Vintage brooch
Miscellaneous pearls, buttons, crystal pin, vintage laces and trims

Instructions:
1. Cut a piece of chipboard the size of the opening of frame. Print vintage clipart birds to fit along the bottom section of the opening of the frame then adhere it to the chipboard piece with Glue Arts Perma Tac Adhesive.

2. Cut a 4" wide piece of paper to fit along the top portion of the opening of the frame then adhere in place. Distress the entire background papers with a light brown inkpad.
3. Adhere vintage lace pieces to the center portion of the opening of the frame using Perma Tac Adhesive.
4. Cut a small piece of muslin to fit inside the birds nest and a piece of tuelle double the length of the muslin. Bunch up the tuelle to fit on the muslin piece then Use hot glue to adhere it along the center fo the muslin piece.

5. Make a couple of folds on the left side of the muslin piece and use hot glue to keep in place. Attach a decorative stick pin and pearls to the left edge of the muslin piece.
6. Reinforce a small photo on the backside with chipboard. Use hot glue to adhere the birdhouse to the center of the opening of the frame then adhere the muslin piece to the back of your photo and then onto the center of the birds nest. Add other embellishments as desired such as buttons and a resin heart.
7. Adhere larger buttons to each side of the lace piece as desired.
8. Adhere a small cluster of flowers to the bottom right side of the nest and word strips at the top of the nest that say "Love Remains". Adhere a brown piece of lace along the bottom edge of the frame.

9. Adhere a vintage brooch to the top center of the frame.
(Project inspired by Rebecca Sower's work)

My mom showed up at my house unexpected and saw this and fell in love. The perfect touch is photo of us girls when we were little and she is a bird fanatic anyway.... so glad that she approves. Happy Mother's Day, mom!!
