It's Snow Season!!

For many of you...that sentiment couldn't of come at a better time.

As many of you are posting about snowfalls, school closures and how the Echo Park Paper Wintertime collection is just the perfect paper to use for those newly taken photos!

Echo Park's recent release of Wintertime brings to mind snowy days spent sledding, ice skating, building snowmen and yes...drinking hot chocolate.

Lots of hot chocolate!!lol

Today Designer Kristen Swain and Michelle Lanning will warm your hearts and feet with their creations.




California Winter

Glue Arts:
*3D combo pack-U Cut It 3D Foam Blanks
*Glue Glider Pro - Extreme Adhesive
*Ribbon Adhesive


Paper Products:

*Echo Park, pattern paper, die cut stickers
*snowflakes, Imaginsce
*Twine, The Twinery
*Brads, American Crafts



Layout Tips:



*turn diecut stickers to the sticky side and add glitter. Then adhere with pieces of 3D foam blanks. Ads a sparkle to the layout as well as dimension.

*For the winter title I outlined the letters in brown so that they would show up on the white journal card.
*for the brown border on the layout, I used the ribbon adhesive to glue these thin pieces, it worked perfectly!






Snow Season Sled

Supplies:Glue Arts - Hot Glue Gun, Glue Glider Pro with Perma Tac runner, UCutIt Foam
Wooden Sleigh/acrylic paint/Ribbon/Gems- craft supply
Paper/Stickers- Echo Park Wintertime Collection
Styrofoam balls
Twine
Chalk
Sculpey Clay
Black Marker
Glitter
sandpaper
iridescent pipe cleaners 


Instructions


1. Paint edges of sleigh with white acrylic paint. Allow to dry.
2. Using the Glue Glider Pro with Perma Tac runner, place adhesive along edges and middle parts of wood, then adhere strips of paper to sleigh, trim off excess and sand with sand paper for close fit.



3. Use UCutIt foam and cut large piece to fit behind cut out journal spot, then adhere to sleigh. Also add UCutIt to border sticker, and adhere over bottom edge of journal spot.
4. Add styrofoam balls cut in half using Hot Glue Gun, then glue on sculpey clay carrot nose, and detail face with chalk and marker. Add pipe cleaner scarf.

5. Add sticker details to piece, using small pieces of UCutIt foam to pop up between stickers, add ribbon bow and sticker topper, gems, and twine to sleigh as shown. Use Hot Glue to attach stickers/gems/buttons more permanently to piece.

    Hmmm...a word...how about what my little girls do (the Little Girl collection would be a great way to showcase this in an album...) GIGGLE. (And thanks for including all the "g's" to make that word possible!)

  5. So great! I love the California Winter with the Wintertime papers. I miss my CA winters and probably would never have thought to use winter type papers for it.

    I wish I could think of mixed up words, but my brain is frozen (-10* outside right now). I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with. ;-)

  101. I was trying to "grapple" with the thought of giving my hubby an "earache" by whining how I was going to "prepare" to "replace" some of my scrap stash. I needed to "recharge" and find the "courage" to tell him that I was a "cropper" and every "package" that comes into the house is important! He knew how happy it makes me, so he "puckered" up and kissed me on the "cheek" to keep the "peace". :)
