Welcome to Hero Arts Week!!!

Welcome to Hero Arts Week!

Glue Arts is so please to announce this week our partnership with Hero Arts.

Many of you are familiar with Hero Arts and their beautiful stamps and products. Hero Arts is a family run business, a green business, and our wood, Cling, and PolyCLEAR stamps are proudly made right here in the USA! (You can learn more about the company HERE.) At Hero Arts we are dedicated to our customers, passionate about our community, and grateful to be a part of the wonderful and thriving craft of stamping. Visit the Hero Arts blog and website to join the community and find creative inspiration every day!

All week long we'll be sharing beautiful stamped creations from the talented Glue Girls! Today we're kicking off this amazing week with some beautiful card and projects from designers Danielle Flanders and Kristen Swain!! Stunning.....

Thinking of You Card
Designer: Kristen Swain
Supplies:
Adhesives - Glue Arts ( foam UCutIt, Perma Tac, ribbon adhesive, mini adhesive squares)
Stamps- Hero arts
Ink- Stazon
Watercolor pencils and water brush
Spray Mister- green
Ribbon
paper- gcd studios
embossing machine- folder ( distressed stripes) Cuttlebug
cardstock- kraft, white, salmon
scissors-mini scallops

Instructions
1. Cut block of salmon and adhere to card using Perma Tac, emboss kraft paper with embossing folder and machine, also adhere to card with Perma Tac.
2. Use ribbon adhesive, and add ribbon with bow to card front.
3. Stamp flower image three times across white cardstock block, stamping at different heights. Stamp again, three more times on scrap cardstock.
4. Use spray mist and mist lightly across white cardstock block, allow to dry, then color in stems only on flowers using watercolor pencil and a lightly dampened brush.
5. Color in flower stems on scrap cardstock, adding salmon color only onto bottom or inside edges of flower, then using a lightly wet brush to pull color onto rest of flower. Color leaf parts green, allow to dry.
6. Cut out each flower from scrap cardstock images, then, using either mini adhesive squares ( for the flat to paper images) or foam UCutIt( to pop up images) adhere all flowers to misted cardstock block.
7. Mat block onto black paper, cut out with mini scallop scissors and adhere to card base with Perma Tac adhesive.
8. Stamp greeting onto white cardstock, cut out and adhere vertically, tucking under stamped image block.

Remember This Layout
Designer: Danielle Flanders

Supplies used:
"You brighten my day" stamp: Big Hugs 4x6 by Hero Arts
Adhesive Squares: Permanent Instant Bond Mounting Squares by Glue Arts
Glue Glider Pro: Glue Arts
Perma Tac: Glue Arts
Vellum Adhesive: Glue Arts
Gray and white cardstock
Chipboard: (black heart) Cosmo Cricket Blackboard Flirt Album, (remember) Dusty Attic Mini Words, (small red hearts) American Crafts Dear Lizzy.
Journaling spot: Cosmo Cricket Delovely
Sticker letters: Am. Crafts Poolside Thickers
Twine: Studio Calico
Fabric strip: K& Co. Amy Butler Fabric Tag
ink: Ruby Red by Stampin Up!
Yellow paper: Cosmo Cricket Delovely
Pin: Oasis Floral Products
Embroidery Floss
2" circle punch, 1" circle punch, and heart punch

Designer Tip: On this layout, I used a page from a chipboard heart album to draw your eye in to the page. I wanted to spread color around the page, so I used punched paper circles, red chipboard hearts and a red stamped saying at the bottom to add color. I used the saying by Hero Arts "you brighten my day", stamped it onto vellum with red dye ink, cut it out and adhered the vellum strips to my page. I'm always a nervous stamper, so stamping onto vellum before attaching it to your page makes certain the image will come out right! If it doesn't, you can try again and can get it just how you want it!

Miss You Card

Designer: Kristen Swain

papers- gcd studios
cardstock- white, red, and kraft

3. Cut black block of paper, punch scrap strip of yellow with scallop punch, then adhere to card with Perma Dots.
4. Mat kraft paper block with yellow paper, adhere to card front with Perma Dots.
5. Stamp greeting on bottom of card as shown.
6. Draw using black marker, three clouds, cut out, adhere to card using foam UCutIt, also punch out heart and adhere with foam UCutIt.

Stamped Vellum Envelopes
Designer: Danielle Flanders

S
upplies:
Vellum
Vellum Adhesive: Glue Arts
Stamps: Big Hugs 4x6 by Hero Arts
Ink: (red) Ruby Red by Stampin' Up!, (silver) Brilliance Starlight Black by Tsukineko
Felt and decorative buttons: craft supply
Pinking Sheers: Fiskars
Baker's Twine: Studio Calico
Resin photo corner: Melissa Frances

Instructions:
1. Cut an 8 1/2 x 11" piece of vellum in half. You will be able to make 2 pockets with one sheet of paper.
2. Fold the 2 long edges of one of the pieces in about 1/2" inch. Then fold the bottom end of the paper up about 2 3/4" from the bottom. Adhere the sides with vellum adhesive to create the pocket.
3. For the flap, fold the top down about 1 1/2" from the top of the paper. Round the corners on flap.
4. Stamp saying. Let dry.
5. Cut a heart with pinking shears and attach.
6. Tie twine around pocket to hold it closed. Add a vintage button and a resin photo corner.

Finished size: approx. 3 3/4" high x 4 1/2" wide.

Designer Tip: I wanted to create my own "glassine" envelopes, so I took a piece of 8 1/2" x 11" vellum and cut it in half to make 2 little pockets. A bundle of these would make a great gift! You could also change the sentiment out to create these for the Christmas holiday as well. Or just make one and tuck in a gift card for someone special. These are really easy and inexpensive to make.
